A 28-year-old murder suspect has handed over himself to police at Padibe police post in Lamwo district allegedly after killing his brother.
Ronald Oyat, a resident of Lukili village in Aceba sub county, Lamwo district, handed himself to police on Sunday.
According to Ongom David Mudong, the Aswa River Region Police spokesperson, Oyat used an axe to hit his brother identified as Samuel Okeny on the head on Saturday killing him instantly after a misunderstanding over a family oxen.
According to section 188 of the Uganda penal code act, any person who of malice aforethought causes the death of another person by an unlawful act or omission commits murder and any person convicted of murder shall be sentenced to death.
