A 62-year old woman identified as Angela Akongo on Tuesday committed suicide over unclear reasons in Labwor- Onguru village, Ligi-Ligi parish in Laperebong sub county, Agago district found dead in the bush.
Kicaya Joseph Okot, the L.C 111 chairperson Laperebong sub county told Mega Fm that Akongo was discovered dead in the bush- 2kms away from her home with a rope tied around her neck at around 2:00pm.
The deceased who was buried yesterday is reported to have mother’s home in the same village on Monday, returned on Tuesday said good bye to her children before disappearing into the bush where she was later discovered dead.
Samson Lubega, the Agago District Police Commander when contacted for a comment did not answer his phone.
Meanwhile, a 14-year old boy on Monday afternoon drowned in River Agago in Lira Palwo Sub County, Agago district.
Rev Bosco Otim, the LC III Chairperson Lira Palwo sub county identified the deceased as Komakec EY- a primary four pupil of Alwe primary school and resident of Agiki Agengo village, Ademe Parish.
Otim said Komakec was returning home with fellow children at around 2:00pm when he decided to swim but was unfortunately swept away by the fast flowing water.
Otim said that the body was and buried on Tuesday afternoon.
