At least 41 motorcycles were on Wednesday night impounded by police in Gulu during a crackdown operation on riders without permits and helmets.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson said the operation was a surprise one to control riders without helmets and riding permits.
He said the 41 riders were handed express penalty tickets of 80,000 shillings each which they are expected to pay in the bank adding that the operations will continue.
