Panic in Gulu district after five Covid-19 patients succumbed to the virus in the past three days from Gulu Regional Referral Hospital and St Mary’s hospital Lacor.
The victims include a female and four males who were rushed to the two facilities in critical conditions. Two died from Lacor on Wednesday while three died from Gulu Regional Referral hospital between Monday and Thursday.
Dr. Paska Apiyo, the in charge case management at Gulu Regional referral hospital told Mega Fm six others are still in critical conditions. According to Dr. Apiyo, all the five had other underlined medical illness.
Major Santos Okot Lapolo, the Gulu Resident City Commissioner has since warned the public that more deaths are expected.
So far 11 patients have succumbed to the virus in Gulu in the past one month.
