Michael Lakony, the Amuru District Chairperson has vowed to fight rampant corruption which has frustrated services delivery in the district.
Lakony who was yesterday sworn in office for a second term also promised to improve education and health.
Thomson Obong, the Chief Administrative Officer Amuru District pledged to support the new councilors to ensure that they develop Amuru.
Geoffrey Orsbon Oceng, the Amuru Resident District Commissioner asked the councilors to work closely with technocrats for betterment of the district.
Meanwhile,Amuru District Councilors yesterday rejected the appointment of Rom Denis as the vice chairperson saying the chairperson was biased.
Lakony however said that Rom who represents Lamogi Sub County is the best candidate for the job.
Meanwhile, other appointments to the executive which were approved include Okello Apollo Kagwa- the councillor five Amuru Sub County as the secretary Education and sport, Aloyo Sharon is secretary production and marketing, Ocan George is secretary Health and community-based services.
Naku Jane, the workers councilor was elected speaker and is deputized by Richard Okwera the councillor Guru-Guru Sub County.
