Three people including a woman this morning survived being lynched for allegedly stealing a puppy, three chicken and a jumper from Kanyagoga A, Bar-dege –Layibi Division in Gulu City.
The suspects Gerald Opiyo alias Fake money aged 26, Charles Onekalit Mucele aged 27 and their mastermind, a woman identified as Sharon Laker aged 28 were seriously beaten after they were caught red handed stealing from one Carol Kitara.
They allegedly broke into Kitara’s poultry pen and took the three chicken before heading to the dog shed where they took the puppy with intentions to sell them off.
Florence Atto, the Local Council one chairperson Kanyagoga A said the three youths have become a serious problem to her area.
She said so far over 10 cases of theft of domestic animals have been registered in her office against the same group in the last one week.
Atto said that the suspects will be subjected to community service for one week and garbage collection once they recover from their injuries.
