Gulu High Court has sentenced to 15 years in prison, a 58-year- old teacher of Loyo Ajonga Primary School in Omoro district for defiling a pupil of the same school.
Alexis Okello was charged with aggravated defilement contrary to section 128 and 129 of the penal code act.
Court heard that Okello between the month of August, 2019, and December, 2019, from Loyo Ajonga Primary School, performed sexual act with a pupil age 14 years.
According to prosecution, Opiyo who was staying in the teacher’s quarter invited the girl to his house and defiled her.
The court presided over by Justice Tom Chamutai handed Okello, a 15year jail sentence as a deterrence measure.
