Police in Gulu City have finally arrested a 30 year old woman who was captured by Close Circuit Television (CCTV) camera stripping naked at Kaunda Grounds.
The suspect have been identified as Stella Auma, a resident of Koch-Goma Sub County in Nwoya District and a mother of four.
Auma was arrested on Sunday night after a tip-off from the CCTV Camera control room at Gulu Central Police Station as she was performing her usual sorcerous act, something that had sparked public outcry. The suspect have been stripping naked every night since the beginning of this month for unknown reasons.
David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa River Region Police spokesperson says Auma was tracked down using the CCTV camera and arrested in the act. Mudong says police finally managed to arrest Auma at around 8pm while naked, just a few meters from the Gulu Main Prison’s premises.
According to Mudong, Auma who is currently detained at Gulu Central Police Station under SD Ref: 54/07/11/2021. She will be examined under Police Form 24 to determine her mental wellbeing and that once she is found to be mentally healthy, she will be charged with being a Public Nuisance.
