A 22-Year-Old Man has allegedly killed his mother after a quarrel over 5,000 shillings in Kitgum district.
George Odida, a resident of Corner Abim village, Kwaroyo parish in Kiteny sub county reportedly killed his mother Julia Anek aged 55 at 3:00pm on Tuesday.
Bob Oneka, a local told Mega Fm that the suspect gave his mother 5,000 shillings to buy food on that fateful morning before going to a drinking joint with friends.
He returned home drunk at 3:00pm and demanded his mother to return the money but she had already used it to buy food
Oneka says the suspect then picked a blunt object and hit his mother on the head killing her instantly.
He then dragged her body under a tree in the compound where community members later found it.
Oneka said police who were informed rushed to the scene, arrested the suspect and took the body to Kitgum General Hospital for a postmortem.
Alfred Okema, the Local Council Three Chairperson Kiteny Sub County confirmed the incident.
David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson said he was not yet aware about the incident.
