Gulu-Col. Edith Nakalema- the Director of State House Anti-Corruption Unit today held a meeting with leaders from the Catholic and Anglican church in Lango and Acholi sub region to try and resolve conflicts over the ownership of 54 schools.
Documents show that 28 of the 54 schools are owned by both catholic and Anglican which has caused conflict.
12 of the schools are in Pader, five in Kitgum, 11 in Lira and three in Agago.
During the meeting at the Gulu Arch-Diocese offices in Bardege-Layibi division in Gulu City, Nakalema said that she was instructed by President Yoweri Museveni and the Minister Of Education, Janet Museveni to hold meetings with the two parties to resolve the conflicts.
Nakalema said that the President is concerned over the conflicts which have dragged on for too long and are affecting education.
His Grace, Dr John Baptist Odama, the archbishop of Gulu Arch-Diocese urged all the parties involved to speak the truth and accept resolutions that will come out of the meeting.
He said the leaders from the two religious groups should be exemplary.
