A section of Gulu City residents were on Wednesday filled with excitement after riding in the Kayoola, a Ugandan made bus that was on a test drive in the city.
The diesel bus was launched on 19th February 2021 and embarked on a countrywide tour to bring it closer to the citizens and also test its endurance and durability.
Richard Madanda, the Kiira Motor production manager told Mega FM that the bus has so far handled the roads quite well including some of the worst roads in the country.
The Bus has a 47-seater capacity, with large boots for luggage including some luxurious amenities such as foot rest, air conditions, onboard toilet, 17 liter freeze onboard and other entertainment systems.
Madanda adds that the bus has a 500-liter fuel tank and consumes 22 liters for every 100 kilometers. The bus has so far traversed western Uganda, central and is expected to go to the Karamoja region this week.
