Police in Gulu is investigating the circumstances under which 40 houses and shops were broken into in Gulu city in a space of four days.
12 shops were broken into at Gulu University area, 20 houses from Industrial and 8 shops at Lacor Complex market.
Solomon Komakech, the General Secretary Industrial Area Cell in Bardege-Layibi Division said they receive 5 cases of house breaking every day by suspected street gangs who have returned from villages after the easing of the lockdown.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson said they are overwhelmed with the rampant cases of house breaking.
He has now called upon the public to support the police with relevant information so that the culprits are apprehended.
