There is panic in Apaa Township, Itirikwa Sub County in Adjumani district following a fresh attack in the area on Tuesday night.
According to reports, the unidentified people armed men with spears, pangas, bows and arrows stormed the township and drove away the residents.
The fresh attack has since left two people including Denis Akera and David Ocaya with severe injuries and are being treated at St Mary’s Hospital Lacor.
Anthony Ocaya, the vice chairperson Apaa village confirmed the incident, adding that the residents are now leaving in fear.
When contacted Lieutenant Hassan Kato, the UPDF 4th Division Spokesperson confirmed the incident, adding that calm has been restored in the area.
The incident comes less than a month after unknown armed men stormed the place and attacked the residents and later looted their properties.
Last month President Yoweri Museveni met some leaders from the area at the State House to find lasting solution to the conflict.
Since Feb, 2012, when the first attack took place against Apaa residents claiming one person, more than 20 have been brutally killed in tribal clashes between the Acholi and Madi community from the neighbouring Adjumani District.
