Police in Gulu says that the mentally impaired man who hacked his mother to death last night in Mican cell, Bardege-Layibi Division had asked his mother for sex before chopping her to death with an axe.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson said that it’s alleged that Tolit Michael 26, who has suffered a mental disorder for 10-years, last evening asked his mother Acan Roslyn aged 48 to have sex with him but she refused and ran away to a neighbours house at around 11:30pm.
Tolit however followed her and took her back to their house and locked the door.
Shortly, people heard Acan screaming, as Tolit cut her up with an axe but were unable to rescue her forcing them to call police on patrol who broke down the door and found the woman’s body dismembered.
Okema says that the deceased and her son were both naked adding that Tolit who sustained injuries on his right hand while trying to throw out a tear gas canister tossed in by police was arrested and taken to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.
The police spokesperson said that investigations into the gruesome killing are still ongoing.
