Lira Man Held For Selling Alcohol To COVID-19 Suspect
Police in Lira district have arrested a man identified as Lawrence Ogwal allegedly for selling alcohol and wine to a COVID 19 suspect at a quarantine Centre.
The suspect, a resident of Boroboro parish, Adekokwok sub county in Lira district was arrested at around 4PM on Sunday inside the quarantine center located inside Lira Nursing School.
Reports say he had been sneaking into the quarantine Centre to sell his products to the COVID-19 suspects.
Michael Odongo, the North Kyoga Police spokesperson confirmed the arrest adding that Ogwal was arrested following intelligent reports from locals who saw him frequenting the centre with his alcoholic products.
Odongo said that Police briefly detained the suspect at Lira Central Police Station before directing that Ogwal be isolated for 14 days.
