A 23-year -old man has committed suicide in Kole district after failing to pay off a debt worth 50,000 shillings.
The lifeless body of Aaron Odyek, a resident of Omolodyang village in Bala Sub county was found hanging on a rope in a bush next to his home.
The deceased’s wife Nancy Acen aged 18 years said that Odyek borrowed the money from a friend in November 2021 but had failed to pay yet the friend needed his money for an urgent matter.
Denis Obong-the LC 1 Chairperson Omolodyang village says Obong who was a social man and had no grudge with anybody might have turned to suicide out of frustration.
A police officer at Bala Police Outpost who preferred anonymity, confirmed the report and said the family had been authorized by police to go ahead and bury the body.
