Gulu University in partnership with Gulu District Health department has on Wednesday started vaccinating all medical students and lectures against coronavirus.
According to the Health Ministry, health institutions are turning out to be COVID-19 cluster centers.
Last week, 69 medical students at Lacor Health Training Institute in Gulu City tested positive for the virus. Gulu University students do some of their training at St Mary’s Hospital and they interact a lot with students of Lacor Health Training Institute.
Dr. Robert Mukembo, Gulu University medical officer says the University targets to vaccinate all the 650 medical students and lecturers. Gulu is currently treating 102 cases of Coronavirus.
