Police in Apac central police station is holding 33 year old resident of Akuli village in Apac district, allegedly, for defiling a 5 year old girl of the same village.
Moses Okuku was apprehended on Thursday allegedly after defiling the minor on Monday.
It is alleged that Okuku on the fateful day defiled the minor on her way to the shop and consequently warned her not to report the incident to anyone.
The minor however narrated her ordeal to her parents prompting them to report the matter immediately to police, leading to his arrest.
The victim was taken to Apac general Hospital for medical examination which confirmed that her private part was ruptured.
Philips Mukasa, the district police commander confirmed the arrest saying Okuku will be charged with aggravated defilement.
Any person who performs a sexual act with another person who is below the age of eighteen years in any of the circumstances specified in subsection (4) commits a felony called aggravated defilement and is, on conviction by the High Court, liable to suffer death.
