Uganda Peoples Defense Forces-UPDF has established an army detach in Lunganyura, Orom sub-County in Kitgum District to fight the rampant cattle rustling in the area.
William Komakech, the Kitgum Resident District Commissioner said the detach was established two days ago and will serve areas around Orom and Namukora Sub County.
Ahmed Kato, the Fifth Division UPDF Spokesperson has confirmed the development saying the detach will help keep away cattle rustlers.
Patrick Otto Okwacha, the L.C1 Chairperson Masaka village- one of the affected areas in Orom Sub county said armed Karamoja cattle rustlers invade the area on a daily basis.
He said they have lost over 20 heads of cattle to the rustlers
