The nominations of candidates for residual and by-elections in local governments across the country have started.
The two-day exercise will start today (Monday) and end tomorrow (Tuesday).
Gulu has 10 vacant positions including that of Awach sub county LC3 chair which fell vacant following the demised of the elected chairperson.
Two are in Amuru, Pader (3), Omoro (15), Nwoya (2), Lamwo (21), Kitgum (16) and Agago (19).
Paul Bukenya, the Electoral Commission spokesperson says that Police have been notified to enforce the guidelines and asked the candidates to cooperate with it.
Elections for all residual and by-elections polling days have been fixed for December 16 and the campaign meetings will be conducted for a period of thirteen days from Thursday 2nd to 14th December 2021.
