The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs is set to establish a regional court of appeal in Gulu District, Mega FM has learnt.
Solomon Muyita, the public relation officer at the Ministry of Justice and constitutional affairs told Mega Fm that Gulu is among eight other districts set to benefit from a regional court of appeal.
Currently, for all appeal cases, people have to go to Kampala.
Muyita says the districts are required to provide land for the construction of the court.
Geoffrey Okaka, the Gulu Chief Administrative Officer says the district has now embarked on finding suitable land and allocate it for the court.
He said that failure to find the land could mean Gulu losing the chance of hosting the court to another district in the Northern Region.
