Five Gulu University students have tested positive for Coronavirus, as the new wave of the virus strikes.
Three of the students have been admitted at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital treatment unit while 2 are on home-based care, according to reports.
James Ojok Onono, the Assistant Public Relations Officer Gulu University told Mega Fm the students were among over 700 students tested last week.
He said that the students were responding well to treatment and none of them is in critical condition.
Onono said there is no cause for alarm adding that an isolation centre has been gazetted at the university to manage the situation.
He also said that over 700 students have been vaccinated against the virus.
Gulu University is third education Institution in Acholi Sub region to be register Coronavirus cases after St Mary’s Hospital Lacor Nursing school and Restore Leadership Secondary school.
