The community of Abongo village in Amuru Sub County, Amuru district has contributed 2.1 million shillings to fight COVID-19 pandemic.
The community also hired six motorcycles for the village Coronavirus ask Force to help in the implementation of the presidential directive.
Laco-Makwiri Oburu, the area Local Council One chairperson says they needed transport for emergencies and to enforce the directives.
Meanwhile, Omoro district local government has given 15million shillings to District coronavirus Task Force to buy protective gears for health workers.
Gulu district local government also contributed items worth 9.6 million shillings to the Gulu district corona virus task force. The items include liquid soap, Jik, Face masks, sanitizers and Dettol soap.
In a similar development, Betty Aol Ocan, the Gulu member of parliament who doubles as the Leader of opposition has donated 2,000 kilograms of longe maize seeds to churches in Gulu district to boast farming and food production.
Holy Rosary received 200 kilograms, Christ Church, St Phillips Church of Uganda and Gulu Cathedral and St Maurice, all received 150kgs each.
Bungatira Church of Uganda and Pece Acoyo church of Uganda received 50kgs each, Catholic chapel Agonga 100 kilograms and Pece Acoyo chapel 100.
