Residents of Kal-okure village in Alero Sub County, Nwoya district are engulfed in grief after a two year old baby boy has drowned in River Aswa.
Kalokwera Desmond drowned at 11:30am after slipping into the river.
David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa River region police spokesperson says that Kalokwera’s parents had gone to the farm and left him under the care of his eight year old sister.
Mudong said the two siblings and other four children went to fetch water in the river when the deceased slid into fast moving water in the river and drowned.
He said that police visited the scene and retrieved the body from the river and handed to over to the family for burial after recording statements from relevant witnesses.
