Gulu-A three day old baby has been stolen from its parents’ home in Lalaro village, Paibona Sub County in Gulu District by unidentified woman.
The parents, Jenifer Ajok and her unidentified husband woke up this morning to find their third born child missing.
Ajok gave birth from Gulu Regional Referral Hospital where she met the suspect who claimed to be her clan sister.
Upon being discharged from the facility on Wednesday, the suspect is said to have returned home with Ajok pretending to be helping out with the new born child and even slept in the same room as mother and child.
Jackson Ayoli Pa’Oyuru, the Local Council Three Chairperson Paibona Sub County said that this morning, Ajok woke up to find her baby and the suspect missing.
Bernard Kaawa, the Gulu District Police Commander said the matter which was reported to Awach Police Station is being followed.
This now brings to seven the number of babies stolen from Gulu district by unknown persons in the last five months.
According to the Police the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) report, over 238 children were stolen in the last three years.
