The Veterinary Department in Omoro District has received 1,116 doses of rabies vaccine from the ministry of Agriculture, Animal industry and fisheries for mass vaccination.
Last week, a rabies infected dog bit five healthy dogs and a man in Baro-lam village, Acet Town Council.
Okello Douglas Peter Okao, the Omoro Chairperson however says that the vaccines are less since they have over 1,500 dogs in the district.
He however said they will work with the Big Fix Uganda to vaccinate the remaining dogs.
Efforts to reach out to Dr. Solomon Aliker, the Omoro district Veterinary Officer for a comment were futile as he did not answer repeated calls made to him.
