Eight children were last evening hit by lightning at Lamiyo primary school in Lamiyo Sub County, Agago district during a heavy downpour.
The children who were playing football at Lamiyo primary school playgrounds had taken shelter in one of the classrooms when they were hit at around 6pm.
According to the area local council I Chairperson Phillips Adonga, the children suffered shocks after lightning hit an electricity pole near the classroom.
Adonga adds that two of the children identified as Steward Wokorach and Godfrey Okwera suffered severe injuries including burns on their bodies.
They were all rushed to Lamiyo health center II for treatment.
