Acute water shortage has hit Gulu City residents for the past two days following a breakdown in the raw water transmission pipe from Oyitino Dam in Bar-dege-Layibi division to the main water reservoir in the City center.
Ivan Tekakwo, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), Public Relation Officers, told Mega Fm that the raw water transmission pipe bust on Sunday night cutting off water supply to the main water reservoir. According to Tekakwo, the NWSC engineers are working within the shortest possible time to fix the problem.
The residents, since then, have resorted to fetching water from nearby Pece, stream available boreholes and spring water points.
