Reports have emerged that several covid-19 patients under home based care in Kitgum district sneaked into Pader district to attend the burial of the late Deputy Inspector General of Police, Lt. Gen. Paul Lokech.
William Komakech, the Kitgum Resident District Commissioner, who is also the chairperson of the district COVID-19 task force revealed the development during the weekly task force meeting held on Wednesday.
Komakech who did not provide figures, suspects that patients under home based care in other districts could have also attended the burial.
Komakech says the district will carry out a mass testing exercise to try and contain the spread of the virus since many people attended Lokech’s burial last week in Paipir village, Pader district.
Kitgum district currently has 35 COVID-19 patients under home based care and only one patient admitted at the treatment center at Kitgum General Hospital.
