UNICEF Suspends Funding To Pader District
UNICEF has suspended funding to Pader district health programs for failing to account for 94 million shillings.
Justine Ocen, Pader district speaker told Mega FM on Friday that the health department was given 224 million shillings by UNICEF in the last financial year but has failed to account for 94 million shillings.
He explained that the money was meant to finance activities like child health days, training of girls to make reusable sanitary pads and support integrated outreach services in hard to reach areas within the district.
Ocen adds that the council will put to task the officers responsible to provide suitable accountability in the next council meeting.
Pader district LCV Chairman, Godfrey Largo Oringa also confirmed the report that funding has been suspended.
