Uganda’s Covid-19 Cases Rise To 616
Uganda’s positive COVID-19 cases have increased to 616 following the confirmation of 23 more cases on Sunday afternoon.
Seven of the cases are truck drivers who entered the country using Elegu, Mutukula and Mirama Hills border points
Another case is of a security guard from Elegu Border Post while another is a health worker.
14 cases were from alerts and contacts of people who have already tested positive.
The news cases come at the time the Health Ministry is worried about the increasing number of community cases being reported.
Dr Monica Musenero, an Epidemiologist and Senior Presidential Adviser on Epidemics, says the country should prepare for high numbers of Covid-19 cases.
