Uganda has recorded five new COVID-19 related deaths in a single day, according to figures released by Health Ministry. The deaths were recorded on July 8, 2022.
This is the highest number of fatalities registered since the beginning this year.
In total, since July 2020, at least 3,627 Ugandans have succumbed to respiratory disease.
Meanwhile, out of the 1,788 people who were tested for the viral disease, 69 turned positive, signaling a 3.8 percent positivity rate. Out of the 69 who tested positive, 10 needed hospitalization since they have severe form of the disease.
By Sunday morning, cumulatively, Uganda recorded 168,360 Covid-19 cases.
