Uganda Cranes missed a chance to qualify for the 2022 Total Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) today after they were beaten by South Sudan 1-0 in Kenya.
Tito Okello who until recently was Ugandan citizenship converted a 35th minute penalty.
The penalty arose after a foul in the forbidden area by defender Halid Lwaliwa in the goal area. Both teams ended the game with 10 men.
The victory for South Sudan keeps their hopes of qualification alive with two more rounds to play.
Burkina Faso and Malawi played to a goal-less draw in Blantyre city. The West Africans now lead group B with 8 points from 4 matches.
