Two Test Positive After Attending NRM Rally


Two people who attended a campaign rally of Capt Mike Mukula over the weekend at St Monica Girls Tailoring School in Gulu have tested positive to Covid-19.

According to the situation report released by the Gulu district Taskforce, the two have since been evacuated to Kampala and their contacts are being traced.

Mukula visited Gulu last Sunday to campaign for Vice chairperson Eastern Region on the same day the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga and Sam Engola also visited to campaign for National Vice Chairperson NRM for Eastern, Women and Northern region respectively.

There have been reports that people who attended the function violated most of the standard operating procedures.

Meanwhile, a contact at Pece prison in Gulu City has also tested positive while 356 more contacts remain under quarantine.

Kanyagoga B in Bardege-Layibi Division has registered two more cases.

15 people including a patient who was being transported to Bombo in an ambulance that was involved in an accident at Bobi in Omoro district on Wednesday are being treated at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital.
