Two Police Constables Arrested in Kitgum Over Sale Of Ammunition


Two police officers were over the weekend arrested in Kitgum for allegedly selling ammunition to a businesswoman.

Beatrice Akello attached to Kitgum Matidi sub county Police post in Kitgum district and James Canrach attached to Kitgum bus park police boot were arrested on Saturday after they allegedly sold 16 rounds of ammunition at 5,000 shillings each to a business woman only identified as Irene, a resident of Lajang village Pajimo parish Akwang sub county Kitgum district.

William Komakech, the Kitgum Resident District Commissioner says the trio was arrested following a tip off from a concerned citizen.

Moses Bwire, the Kitgum District Police Commander confirmed the arrest of the trio saying they are currently being detained at Kitgum central police station pending further investigations.
