Two Arrested For Beating Gulu Village Coronavirus Task Force Members


Two men are being held at Palaro police post in Palaro sub county, Gulu district allegedly for beating members of the Mede central village Coronavirus Task Force.

Brian Opiyo, aged 22, and Sunday Oryem, aged 24, both residents of Mede central village were arrested on Monday evening.

They allegedly attacked members of the village Task Force including the area LCI chairperson Loum Patrick Alana accusing them of causing their arrest on Sunday for defying the presidential directive on social distancing after were found playing cards.

According to Loum Alana, Opiyo and Oryem attacked them at around 5pm while they were enforcing the presidential directive.

The Aswa River region police spoke person Jimmy Patrick Okema says his office was yet to be informed of the arrest.
