Pader-Abim Multipurpose Electric Cooperative Society Ltd- (PACMECS) is yet in another crises following the resignation of one of the board members and three of its former employees taking it to court over unfair termination from their jobs.
Benedict Lubang who is also the district engineer says his resignation follows the unlawful termination of contracts of the three staff.
The former staff include Lillian Atek, the former General Manager Pader-Abim Multipurpose Electric Cooperative Society, Ronald Yet, the former Finance and Administration Officer and Store Assistant, Jolly Harriet Atim.
The trio was indefinitely suspended by the board in November 2019 to pave way for an independent audit for allegedly causing financial loss to the society.
Through their lawyer from Legal Aid, the trio has served the cooperative with a notice of intention to sue, saying they were illegally sacked.
However, the Board Chairperson, Simon Ojok Odoch, rubbished claims of unfair termination by the former employees, describing it as a waste of time.
PACMECS is responsible for distributing electricity to Pader, Lamwo, Kitgum, Abim districts and parts of Omoro and Gulu districts.
