Teachers disappointed with the salary increment
Teachers in Gulu say they are not happy with the 30,000shillings (7%) salary enhancement announced by the government.
The teachers said that the increment set to take effect this October is not even half of what they had bargained for with government.
Okidi Francis, the Uganda National Teachers Union- UNATU chairperson for Northern Region while speaking today on the sidelines of the belated world Teachers day celebration for Gulu Municipality at police primary school said they were expecting a 30 % salary increase.
Classroom teachers currently earn 465,000 shillings
