Suspected Thief Survives Shooting At Gen. Lukech Residence
A suspected thief identified as Benson Komakech on Monday survived being shot dead at the residence of Maj. Gen. Paul Lokech, who is currently on a special assignment to monitor South Sudan peace process.
Komakech was nabbed by a soldier guarding the wall fenced residence at around 1:30 am while trying to steal solar panels.
According to reports, the soldier fired two bullets at the suspect, leading to his arrest.
He was then badly beaten and later admitted to Pader health centre III under police guard.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region police spokesperson says the suspect revealed that they were four in number but others escaped.
According to Okema, the suspect identified his accomplices as Ojok Paibulo, Okidi Pius, Obok Achan and Obwola Ramson, all from Agago district.
The police publicity adds that one of the four, Obwola Ramson, was traced and later arrested and both admitted that they have two guns.
