Six Vehicles for COVID-19 Response Activities in Gulu Grounded
Six vehicles for COVID-19 response activities in Gulu District are grounded.
The fleet that includes an ambulance recently donated by India to the Ministry of Health and was assigned to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital to help in the evacuation and transportation of COVID-19 patients.
Bishop Loum Janani, the In-Charge of Case Management at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital said because the donated ambulances are supposed to be serviced from the centre, they have already contacted the Ministry to intervene.
The District Health Officer Yoweri Idiba said the Task Force is soliciting for 3.7 million Shillings for servicing the vehicles.
The vehicles being used by the Task Force need services every after two weeks because of the speed they use while responding to COVID-19 activities.
According to the State Minister for Primary Health Care Dr Joyce Moriku Kaducu, the ambulances and Double Cabin vehicles that were given as donations to the Ministry are not strong for hospital management.
