Six police officers and two civilians were this morning rushed to Anaka hospital in Nwoya district following an accident along Karumah-Pakwach highway.
Two of the officers-Aseko Arinkangira and Ochan Moses were seriously injured.
Others are Olal Albino, Okot Simon Peter, Okada Joseph and Odong Denis Oroya, the police driver.
Reports say that the police car UP 4844 was rammed into by a taxi registration number UAW 617 K that was heading to Arua from Kampala throwing off the police officers who were heading back to Agung detach at 6:00am.
Meanwhile, the passengers of the taxi who were injured are one Omua Mahmoud and one not identified by press time.
The taxi is reported to have veered off the road into the bush where it shortly caught fire and burnt to ashes.
It’s suspected the driver of the taxi who is on the run could have slept off causing the accident.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa river region police spokesperson confirmed the report.
