Security organs led by the police have heavily deployed in Omoro district to curtail any incidences of insecurity ahead of the Omoro County by-elections.
Roadblocks have been mounted at all entry points into Omoro district.
David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson confirmed the report saying the roadblocks are to help police screen people accessing Omoro district to keep out anyone planning to disrupt the electoral process.
This comes ahead of planning campaign visits to the district by different party presidents.
The party presidents include President Yoweri Museveni of the National Resistance Movement-NRM who is expected to campaign for Andrew Ojok Oulanyah on May 24, 2022.
Others are Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu of NUP who is expected on Sunday May 22, 2022 and Patrick Amuriat Oboi of the Forum for Democratic Change Party FDC who is expected on Monday May 23, 2022.
The Omoro County by-elections have been scheduled for May 26, 2022.
