Quick negotiation hurting police work

Police have noted that negotiation for compensation by traffic offenders and victims of accidents is hindering prosecution of offenders.

Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region Police spokesperson says many families of accident victims tend to ignore the law and go into a negotiation with motorists

Okema who was speaking during the Monday police briefing at Numec said that it’s important for reckless drivers to be punished for their actions but that many evade going through the justice system by negotiating and compensating affected families.
