Priest Hails UPDF Efforts In Fighting COVID-19
Rev. Father Onen Charles, the second curette of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Gulu town has applauded the Uganda Peoples Defense Forces (UPDF) for their efforts in trying to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
President Museveni on March, 31, 2020 declared a 14 days Curfew that starts at 7pm-6:30 am in a bid to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Fr. Onen noted that Ugandans only understand military language and that was the reason why the rate of infections was interrupted in the wake of the outbreak.
So far, 54 cases of COVID19 have been confirmed in the country. More than 3000 COVID-19 tests have been carried out by the Health Ministry.
The Ministry is currently tracing over 14000 travelers who are believed to have entered the country between February and March 2020.
