President Museveni Condemns Attacks On Security Personnel
President Yoweri Museveni has condemned attacks on security forces enforcing the presidential directives on Covid-19 preventions, cautioning members of the public against provoking armed security personnel into retaliation.
The statement comes just days after Private Alex Niwanyina, aged 25, the UPDF officer lost his right eye after he was violently attacked in Amuru District.
Private Niwanyine was allegedly attacked by one, Stephen Olibio who works as an Inspector with Rock Bus Company.
The army officer is the bodyguard to the Amuru Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Linda Agnes Auma.
Mr. Museveni says attacks on security personnel is a mistake, directing security personnel to use reasonable force to subdue such characters.
