Police rescued woman from house
A helpless pregnant woman identified as Amito Christine was on Sunday rescued from her rented house in Kanyagoga B sub ward in Bardege Division Gulu Municipality.
The woman in 30s was unconscious when local authorities and police broke her door at around 1:00 pm.
Rose Lucaci, the Councilor 111 for Kanyagoga A Sub ward said that neighbours got concerned after Amito failed to come out even after they persistently knocked on her door prompting them to report to the authorities and police.
Lucaci said the Amito was rushed to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital where it was discovered that she has high blood pressure.
If left untreated, high blood pressure can lead to serious health complications for the mother, her infant, or both.
In most cases, however, hypertension is preventable and treatable.
Lucaci has accordingly urged residents to avoid living alone.
