Police officer faces aggravated robber at Gulu High Court


A police officer has been charged with aggravated robbery in connection with the violent theft of 500 million shillings at Elegu border post in Amuru district.
Musa Munyali, 32, had appeared before Justice Vincent Okwanga, the Gulu resident High Court judge on Tuesday alongside five other suspects charged.
Prosecution alleges that on May 29, 2013 at Elegu Trading Centre, Munyali and others still at large, robbed 500 million shillings from the shop of Samuel Adraca.
The money in question was for money changers who operate at Elegu border town, which lies about 500 meters from the South Sudanese border town of Nimule.
The other suspects are Francis Owiny Omara (29), Said Muzee (26), Irama Adinani alias Rashid (32), Waswa Abubakar (30) and Jamal Ali (38).
Justice Okwanga fixed September 28, this year as a date for hearing of the case and accordingly directed the prosecution to present witnesses on that day.
