Police in Aswa To Use CCTV To Monitor Lazy Officers


Police in Aswa River has warned under performing officers to improve on their performance before the Close- Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras being installed are switched on.

Plans are underway to install CCTV cameras in Gulu Central Business District (CBD) and along major roads that link Gulu town to other districts.

Among the roads where CCTV Cameras will be installed are Kitgum Road, Atiak- Juba Highway and Customs Corner among others.

Meanwhile, Police will install the Command Centre at the Gulu Central Police Station.

Currently, police are still constructing the bases where the CCTV cameras will be installed.

Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson said once the cameras are installed, it will not only help combat urban crime, but also help them to pick out lazy police officers.
