Patients Stranded In Omoro As Health Workers Are Transferred
Several patients have been left stranded at two health facilities after health workers who were attached to Omoro District withdrew their services.
The health facilities where they were deployed were formerly in Omoro district but are now part of the new Gulu City.
The health facilities are Patuda and Alokolum health center 11s where three staff each were withdrawn and redeployed within Omoro district.
Our correspondent visited the two health facilities and found patients stranded with some unaware of the new development.
Bernard Opio, the chairperson health management committee Alokolum health center 11 said there was a need for an audit into drug use saying there are fears that the health workers who have left stole drugs.
Mega Fm spoke to some patients who were stranded at Alokolum health center 11.
Nicholas Ogwang, the Acting Chief Administrative Officer said the matter was being handled administratively.
The District Health Officer, Robert Ongom also declined to comment on the matter
