Party Agents Worry Over Election Materials Safety

The Electoral Commission-EC Registrar Omoro district, Denis Obong has assured agents of political parties that the election materials delivered to the EC office today will be safe saying they are working with police and other security organs.

This was after party agents voiced their concerns over the unsafe environment in which the EC office is located.

Isaac Ojok from Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) noted that the office which is located on the highway in Koro Sub county is too open.

While Acellam Ben Kizito, the chairperson Democratic Party (DP) in Omoro district told Mega FM said he was not sure of the safety of the election materials because they were not shown into the room where they were to be stored until the polling date of January 14th.

Cankara Andrew the Bobi sub county National resistance Movement (NRM) however said he was satisfied with the transparency exhibited so far by the EC.

The district received a total of 158 ballot boxes for the polling stations in the 15 sub counties.

Meanwhile, one of the boxes was found with broken seal but their content intact.
